何をいまさらというファンの方もいるんでしょうねー。このセットなかなか高価で躊躇していたのですが、最近のアマゾンは日本からでもアメリカのアマゾンサイトに載っている商品が注文可能（iOSの専用アプリからのみ可能だそうです、今のところ）になって、送料も個人輸入に比べるとかなり安くなってきたという事情があってオーダーしました。本作はCollectable（新生の方です）からパート1（5枚組）とパート2（6枚組）に別れていてそれぞれ同じ大きさの木箱に入っていますが、なかなかに邪魔なヤツ（あのDooWop Boxのちょっと厚さの薄いのが2個くらい、といった感じ）です。CD1枚にはもう少し入るハズなので、頑張れば6枚組み程度のワン・ボックスでイケたのに…と。しかし購入して初めて知ったのですが、パート1のCD5枚セットは旧Collectableがリリースした分で、一応これで完結していました。CDに封入のジャケット裏面の解説も5までしかありません。対しパート2はよく見ると「More Memories of Times Square Records」と書かれていて、パート1リリースから随分のちに発売されたようです。ともあれIvy 'Slim' Roseさんが趣味と実益（？）に任せて集めに集めた貴重なテープの山から全154曲を選び出してあります。ボックスセット（パート1のみ）としての発売が2001年で「Doo Wop Box」ブームに乗ろうという思惑が感じられますが、とはいえあのブームがなかったら本作も世に出るのはもう少し後になったかもしれないですよね。本作はある意味Slim Rozeのプレイリストと言えルと思います。さほどレアな曲が詰まっている訳では無いのですが、それでもマニア好みの有名曲と共にさりげなく収められている曲がとってもいいんですねー、ほんと。Times Square Recordsの流れはRelic・Collectables・Lost Nightなどへ続いていくのですが、アメリカならでは感があると思うのは私だけでせうかね。上記でCollectableについて「旧」とか「新生」とか記載していますが、実際に倒産して…とかいう事情は全く知りませんし、多分ないんでしょうが、ある時点からレコードの造りが格段に悪化しましたよね。近年のCollectableの雑すぎるカラーコピーのようなぺらぺらの紙のジャケットとCDのレーベルプリント（パソコン用のプリンタで印刷したような）を見て「昔は安っぽいとはいえもっと丁寧なジャケだったのになぁ」とつくずく感じるのでありますが、あなたはいかがかな。
