How can you get to Selborne?
I advise you to take a train. But there is no railway stations in Selborne.
You have to go to one of the neibouring towns by railway. You can find
three towns. They are Alton, Liss and Petersfield. The nearest and best
for you may be Alton. Take a bus or a taxi there. In about 10 minutes or
so you'll reach Selborne. Get down at "Selborne Arms." "Selborne
Arms" is the name of one of the two pubs in Selborne.
もしヒースロー空港に着いて直ぐにセルボーンへ行きたければ、ターミナル４の地下からワォウキング駅行きのバスがあります。ワォウキングからオールトンまでは列車です。時間も短いし交通費も安上がりです。
If you are at the Terminal 4 of Heathrow Airpot, go to the basement and find the bus to "Wocking." At Wocking you can take a train to Aulton.. This may be the most inexpensive and shortest route.
オールトンの駅は町外れにありますが、町の中心まで歩いても５分ほどでしょう。駅でバスやタクシーが見あたらなければ町の方へ行ってみるのもいいでしょう。バスは１〜２時間に１本しかありません。途中でチョートンというところに寄るバスもあります。チョートンにはジェイン・オースティンが住んでいた家があります。英文学に興味がある人ならここも見所です。
Aulton Station is not in the center of the town. If you can't find a bus
or a taxi there, take a walk about 5 minutes. Then you' ll reach the town
center. You can find the bus stop or a taxi easily. The bus service is
one in an hour or two. If you have some interest in English literature,
you know Jane Austen. Her old home was in Chawton. The house is now her
museum. Some buses take you to Chawton.
