Even mild symptoms can hide changes that only an examination can reveal. We recommend the tests that are appropriate for your symptoms and explain the purpose of each one.

We provide specialist care for cataracts and glaucoma, including same-day surgery. Depending on the condition, we may refer patients to a partner institution. We aim to provide careful examinations and clear explanations so that every patient receives the right treatment for their situation. Please feel free to consult us about any concerns regarding your eyes.

To support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning,
we maintain dedicated equipment for examinations, diagnostics and surgery.
Vision Testing Room
Equipped with an auto refractor-keratometer, non-contact tonometer and visual field screening equipment.
We carefully measure visual acuity, refractive power and eye pressure to fully understand your condition before your consultation.
Precision & Specialist Testing Room
Equipped with a slit-lamp microscope, optical coherence tomography (OCT) and an automated visual field analyzer.
This allows us to closely examine subtle changes such as glaucoma or retinal disease that are difficult to detect visually.
Operating Room
Equipped with a Leica surgical microscope and an ultrasonic cataract surgery device (phaco machine), supporting same-day cataract and other eye surgeries.
We maintain the equipment needed for surgical care, and we explain the procedure and process carefully beforehand.
Eyewear Consultation Corner
We also have a dedicated corner where you can check your prescription and try on frames.
Our Environment
Sunlight filtering through the windows onto indoor plants creates a soothing, natural atmosphere in our waiting and examination rooms.
Because LED light can sometimes feel glaring and harsh on the eyes, we avoid LED lighting wherever possible in every room, including the examination rooms, and strive to keep our lighting gentle on the eyes.
A 24-hour ventilation system keeps the air continuously refreshed, and our barrier-free design makes it easy to visit with a wheelchair or stroller.

First-Time Contact Lens Wearers

No appointment is required, even for first-time contact lens wearers. You will be seen in order of arrival, just like other patients, and we provide careful guidance on fitting and lens care in addition to the exam. We support you in choosing lenses suited to your lifestyle and preferences, with eye health as our first priority.
If this is your first time being fitted for contact lenses, please bring your current glasses.
Fitting and practice may take some time, so please allow extra time for your visit.
If fitting practice cannot be completed within our hours, or depending on how busy the clinic is, you may be asked to return on a later date.

Access, Appointments & Visiting Us
We do not take phone appointments for either first or follow-up visits. No appointment is needed — patients are seen in the order they arrive during our consultation hours. If a doctor determines during your visit that a detailed examination is needed, we will arrange the next appointment for you before you leave.
We welcome patients from Hikone and across Shiga Prefecture, as well as from Kyoto City, Takatsuki and Hirakata (Osaka), and the Nagoya (Aichi) area.
