About Glasses Fitting

For anyone considering glasses

We do not issue standalone glasses prescriptions; our lens fitting service is for patients purchasing eyewear from our in-clinic selection. We check not only visual acuity but also the presence of eye disease, eye alignment (including strabismus), and focusing ability, aiming for vision suited to each individual.

Symptoms

  • Difficulty seeing text, or trouble focusing
  • Double vision
  • Easily tired eyes, shoulder stiffness or headaches
  • Increased sensitivity to glare
  • Current glasses no longer fit well
  • Failed a school vision screening (C or D result, for children)

These can be signs that your current glasses no longer fit, or that your vision has changed. Continuing to use an incorrect prescription because "I can still see" may cause eye strain and headaches, and in children, can even affect the development of their vision.

Seek care promptly if you notice: Sudden double vision or a missing part of your visual field can indicate something beyond a simple refractive error.

Process

  • Vision & refraction testingA detailed check of your current visual function and focusing ability.
  • Comprehensive evaluation by the doctorBased on the test results, we check your overall eye health and determine whether reduced vision is due to a refractive error.
  • Trial fittingYou try different lenses to check how they perform, adjusted to your lifestyle. Both too-strong and too-weak lenses can cause eye strain, so we fine-tune to what suits you.
  • Lens fitting & frame selectionLenses are fitted to your eyes and lifestyle, and you choose a frame from our in-clinic selection.

Ongoing Care

  • Have regular check-ups even without symptoms to track prescription changes and eye health, especially important during a child's growth years when prescriptions change more often.
  • Protect your eyes with dryness and UV countermeasures (such as tinted glasses), and maintain a balanced diet.
  • Wear your glasses correctly, and consult us promptly if your vision feels off.

A Note From the Director

Even if you think “I can see fine as is,” your eyes may actually be under strain. Children especially may not notice vision problems themselves, so it helps for family members to pay attention. Whether it's simply the glasses not fitting, or something else, please feel free to consult us about anything that concerns you.
