保存会では植樹の後、新たな桜の成長を見守りつつ、オリジナルの古い桜の整備や管理清掃をしつつ、この実際にあった物語を伝え、残していく活動を継続していきます。
日系アメリカ人の苦難の歴史は日本国内で周知されているとは思えません。
またハワイという土地に関しても観光と言う面のみで見られ、その歴史や日系人社会については省みられること無いままであると感じます。
しかし、特に戦後の日本の復興と海外への進出に関して日系アメリカ人によって助けられた側面は大変大きいものであったと考えます。
これらの事を含め、その象徴の一つである「アロハ桜」の物語りを、特にこれから国際社会に出て行くことになる若い世代にも知ってもらい、今後の日本という国の在り方について思いを馳せていただければ幸いです。
At "Aloha Sakura Preservation Society", we will watch the growth of new cherry blossoms after tree planting.
We also do maintenance and cleaning of the original old cherry blossoms.
And I will continue the activity that tells this actually story and leaves.
I do not think the history of Japanese Americans' hardship is well-known in Japan.
Many of Japan also see Hawaii as a tourist destination only.
I think that Japanese do not know about Hawaiian history and Japanese American society.
However,
there were very big helps by Japanese Americans regarding the
reconstruction of Japan after WW 2 and the entry into overseas.
A story of "Aloha Sakura" which is one of the symbols of these things.
We hope. From now and I want you to also know the younger generation that will go out to the international community.
I would be pleased if you could think of the future of the country of Japan.
植樹１周年記念花見会について
2019年4月6日にアロハ桜にて「植樹１周年記念花見会」を実施いたします。
詳細は現在計画中ですが、ハワイからMIS及び100大隊退役軍人会関係者の出席が予定されています。
会費1000円程度の昼食を挟んだ花見になると思います。
参加を希望される方はご連絡下さい。

We carried out the Aloha cherry tree planting ceremony.
2018年3月10日 1200～
京都府舞鶴市余部の共楽公園にて、アロハ桜保存会主催による、アロハ桜植樹式を実施いたしました。
People who came from Hawaii for this planting ceremony.
Mr. Lawrence Enomoto President of Hawaii MIS veterans club.
(U.S. AIirForce Retired Majority Former MIS Language Soldier).
&
Mr. Glen Arakaki (former MIS language soldier Maizuru garrison career).
& Isami Yoshihara (U. S. AIirForce Veterans)
Mr. Enomoto son, Mr. Arakaki's grandchild,
& from the 100th Infantry Battalion Veterans Club
Mr. and Mrs. Ane Kabasawa (Mr. Raymond Nosaka B Company 100 Infantry Battalion)
Mr. Dona Teshima and Children (Michio Teshima, C Company 100 Infantry Battalion * 1945 KIA Daughter)
A total of nine people came to Japan.
Also, Ms. Anne Shirai living in Japan (Mr. Fred Hosokawa, the 100th Infantry Battalion HQ Company) was also attended.
今回の植樹式では遠くハワイからLawrence Enomoto氏（現ハワイMIS退役軍人会会長 U.S.AIirForce退役少佐 元MIS語学兵）とGlen Arakaki氏（元MIS語学兵 舞鶴駐屯経歴）の２名ベテランと、Isami Yoshihara氏（U.S.AIirForce退役軍人)、Enomoto氏ご子息、Arakaki氏のご令孫、そして第100歩兵大隊退役軍人会からAn Kabasawa氏夫妻（第100歩兵大隊B中隊 Raymond Nosaka氏ご令嬢）、Dona Teshima氏親子（第100歩兵大隊C中隊 Michio Teshima氏※1945KIA ご令嬢）の９名の方がご出席下さいました。
また日本在住のAnne Shirai氏（第100歩兵大隊 HQ中隊 Fred Hosokawa氏ご令嬢）にもご出席いただきました。

「今日、この場所に会長である私以下退役軍人会をお招き下さり大変感謝しています。
特に私の前に整列しているアメリカ軍の制服を着てる人々に敬意を表します。
あなた方は日本とアメリカを代表し、太平洋と欧州で命をかけて戦った人々をも代表している事を忘れないで下さい。
ここに日本占領時代にMISとして舞鶴で勤務したMISのArakakiさんを紹介します。
彼はこの舞鶴で勤務したMISの方々を代表して出席に尽力し、またこの桜を植えた記念の代表でもあります。
今日ここにリエナクトメントとして桜の植樹が行われる事、その記憶が受け継がれる事を大変光栄嬉しく思います。
この物語を記憶に残す活動に感謝します。

私は事前の調整段階でのメールでのやり取りの中で、Enomoto氏に我々が軍服を着て、階級章を付けて再現を行っている事を伝え、またその事を許していただけるかの話をしていました。
Enomotoさんの言葉は、非常に深く心に刻まれました。
私自身は涙が溢れました。
ここに集まっていたリエナクター全員が同じ思いだったでしょう。
これは、日本中でリエナクトメントに限らず、また現代、過去問わず他国や日本の軍服を身に着ける事のある方々に聞いていただきたい言葉である、と思いました。
It is, after the speech of Mr. Enomoto, gave a reproduction tree planting.
In the past few months, the regulation of the American soldiers (Japanese-language language soldiers) stationed in Maizuru in 1950 was investigated.
And also in order to conform to the regulation, domestic members to align the provisions with overseas mail order and overseas auction from the beginning has been busy trying.
Under the guidance of a friend Ueki craftsman "Nakamura", we planted five "Harumeki = Spring scent" and five "Yokou = sunshine" cherry seedlings in total of 10 cherry trees.
ご祝辞を頂いた後、再現植樹を行いました。
この数ヶ月、調べに調べた1950年の舞鶴駐留アメリカ兵（日系語学兵）のレギュレーション。
そしてまたレギュレーションに合わせる為、国内は元より海外通販や海外オークションも使って規定を揃えるのにメンバーは奔走しました。
友人である植木屋さんのご指導の下、５本の「春めき」と５本の「陽光」計10本の桜の苗木を植樹しました。
Following the reappearing planting trees, we commemorated the ceremonial trees.
Guests from Hawaii, contributors, newspaper reporters, family members of BCo, etc.
We planted trees on everyone who visited us.
As a memorial, I hope that you can remain in my mind.
再現植樹に引き続き記念植樹としてハワイからの来賓やご寄付に協力下さった方々、新聞記者の方々、BCoの家族等来場下さった方全員に植樹作業をしていただきました。
記念として、心に残っていただければ、と思います。

Thank you very much for coming and gathering the Aloha cherry trees memorial plant ceremony today.
皆さま、本日はお集まりくださりまして、ありがとうございます。
I am an executor Koda for this ceremony .
私が執行者の小田です。
I began to be interested in Japanese American in Hawaii and the 100th bn
infantry almost 20 years ago and I lived near the Kouraku-Park at that time.
私は、２０年ほど前にハワイの日系人と第１００歩兵大隊に興味を持つことになったのですが、
ちょうどそのころに共楽公園のすぐ近くに住んでいました。
I have an opportunity to know about the Aloha Cherry Trees when I took a walk around the park .
偶然通りかかった際に、このアロハ桜を知ることとなりました。
I feel the fate when I remember that day .
思えば縁あるものと、思っています。
I also feel the fate not only people in Japan but also people from Hawaii .
本日は、日本中のみならず遠くハワイからも、
Mr.Enomoto the president of M.I.S veterans club and many guests from Hawaii come for the Aloha cherry trees memorial plant ceremony today .
MISベテランズクラブのエノモト会長をはじめ多くの方々がお集まりください

There are the fates for plant the new cherry tree and the fate the original Aloha cherry trees post war .

Today, this is the first step to cherish those fate and keep telling the story to the furture.

Aloha! 本日は、新たなアロハ桜の植樹式に、皆様お集まりくださり 誠にありがとうございました。
Thank you everyone for coming today.
遠くハワイからも、所縁のある方々にご出席いただけました事をとても嬉しく、心より感謝申し上げます。
I am grateful to the guests from Hawaii who related to Aloha Sakura for attending this ceremony.
50年当時のアメリカ軍日系兵士の姿で作業して下さった歴史再現研究グループの皆様にも厚く御礼申し上げます。
I'm also appreciate people of Re-enacting group for preparation.
アロハ桜保存会を代表し、ご挨拶できることを光栄に思います。
On behalf of the Aloha Sakura Preservation society, I am honored to be able to say hello.
オリジナルのアロハ桜は、戦後間もない1950年、ハワイ出身の日系二世アメリカ人兵士達と舞鶴市民に寄ってこの地に植樹されました。
The Original Aloha Sakura was planted by Nisei soldiers from Hawaii and people of Maizuru in 1950.
100本の桜の苗木は、当時まだ31歳の若きMIS兵、タカキ・フジオさんが、「日本の人達のために何かをしなさい」という親の教えを守り、戦中から貯めておられたお金で購入してくださったものでした。
100 Cherry seedlings was presented from MIS soldier, Fujio Takaki, 31 years old. He kept his money to do something good for Japanese people.it was his mother's teaching.
親子で苦難の歴史を歩まれながらも、戦後の日本の復興を願って、舞鶴市に贈って下さった「アロハ桜」。
Aloha Sakura was planted for reconstruction of Japan.
その物語を語り継ぎ、傷んだオリジナルの桜の管理と、新たな桜の植樹、育成を目的に、昨年12月、私達は「アロハ桜保存会」を結成いたしました。
Last December, we found Aloha Sakura Preservation society to tell the history, to maintain original old sakura, and to plant and cultivate new sakura.
それから3ヶ月という短期間で、このような植樹式をおかげさまで迎えることが出来ました。 これもひとえに皆様のご支援の賜物と心から感謝しております。
Thanks to your support, we are able to have this ceremony only in three months.
実は、今年の1月 ハワイを訪れ、タカキ・フジオ氏が眠られるカネオヘの米軍墓地へ感謝のご報告をして参りました。
I went to Army cemetery to report our activity to Mr Fujio Takaki this January.
お墓を目の前にし、気づけた事ですが、1918年生まれのタカキ氏は、ご存命なら今年でちょうど100歳の節目の年。
And I noticed that he would be 100 years old if he alive.
桜の季節の4月5日にハワイで誕生され、赴任先の日本で初めて美しいサクラと出逢われたのも、何かのご縁だったのかも知れません。
Mr Takaki was born on April 5th in the season of sakura, and saw beautifl sakura in japan. It may have been his fate.
導かれるように、このタイミングで新たなアロハ桜を植樹出来ました事を、タカキ氏や当時の皆様もきっと微笑んで見守って下さっているように感じております。
I think Mr Takaki smiles and watches over this planting ceremony.
この度、植樹しました「春めき」と「陽光」の二種の桜は、香りがとても良く、暑さ寒さにも強いという長所があります。
We plant two kinds of sakura, "HARUMEKI Springish" and "YOUKOU Sunshine" are aroma is good, and strong against cold.
これから「アロハ桜」として、すくすくと育ち、美しい花を咲かせ、日本とアメリカ・ハワイの友好平和の桜として、物語を語り継ぐ役目を果たしていってくれることを祈り、あいさつとさせていただきます。
I hope these Aloha Sakura will grow up gracefully and bloom as a symbol of peace and friendship of both country.

Regulations of clothing are as follows.
About regulation (clothing regulation) of people participating in reproduction planting.
Along the following provisions, we will assume only person who can offer a military uniform, etc. on your own.
※ There is no designation of original, replica in clothing. Too replica
was far from the real thing, and degraded real thing is there is a
possibility to refuse. In case of uneasiness please contact us in
advance.
※ If you can not prepare your clothes, you can plant trees as a general participation cooperation
・ I would like to reproduce soldiers belonging to the US Army MIS in Maizuru in the early spring of 1950.
※ There are various theories about planting time.
Also, the actual planting appearance is not left in the photograph etc.
We estimate from pictures in other scenes and the range heard by Veteran.
If you have comments or photographs of the time, please give us the information by all means.
再現植樹参加者のレギュレーション（服装規定）について。
・1950年初春のアメリカ陸軍、情報部（MIS、CIC等）所属の舞鶴駐屯兵士を再現しています。
※植樹時期は諸説あり、また実際の植樹時の姿は写真等に残っておらず、他の場面での写真やVeteranに聞き取りした範囲から推定し、指定しております。
