Year, hybridizer, country unknown
Single,
The photo on the right is a plant grown from seeds ordered from Chiltern
Seeds in 2003.
In addition to Chiltern Seeds, T & M in the UK and Patrick Studio in
Canada were supplying similar seeds at that time. If my memory serves,
T & M was selling the seed by the name of F. boliviana 'Fete Florale,' and said it would grow up to 50 cm.
My Fête Floral started blooming about 170 days after sowing in early winter, when it had grown up to 30 cm in June 2004.
It has 3.5 cm long cerise tubes with 1 cm long sepals in a similar color
and tinged with green at the tips. The corolla, about 1 cm long, is slightly
darker. Flowers are produced in clusters at the end of the stem. The foliage
is oval, hairy, sage green.
Unfortunately I lost the plant soon after it bloomed. Perhaps it is not
much heat-resistant.
