Top Ten
Guest Speakers

Each month Top Ten invites guest speakers to present their products or services to the class members. This is an invaluable opportunity for the students to observe a business presentation by a native speaker as well as to hear about thought-provoking topics. On the whole, the presentations are given in English, but occasionally when the subject is complex and difficult to comprehend, then Japanese may be used.

To give you some idea, here follows a few of the gueast speakers who have kindly joined us at Top Ten in the past

Merril Lynch
Guest speaker: Jimba Nakamura Imagawa
Subject:Welcome to Merril Lynch

This was an information presentation. It covered past and present history and Merril Lynch's presence in Japan. Strategy and investment products were highlighted along with a very active Question and Answer session. This was a highly effective presentation and it educated t he students on investment information ideas.

Arthur Anderson
Guest speaker: Masaya Sano
Subject:Accounting and accounting standards.

Arthur Anderson is an American company. Mr. Sano, who has a CPA License, talked about the different standards in America and Japan. This was a very thought-provoking presentation.

Bank of India
Guest speaker: Mr. Sudhir Rao
Subject:The Euro.

Mr. Rao came to Top Ten to explain the Euro single currency, and how it will effect the 11 countries that will participate. He covered the history and current analysis of business in Europe and the economic impact that a single currency will have there. This was a highly informative and up-to-the-minute presentation.

Core Company
Guest speaker: Mr. Fujisawa
Subject:Core Company.

Mr. Fujusawa's presentation introduced Core, a highly developed Hard and Software company that has only a 30 year history. Core has made enormous progress in the High-Tech industry and Mr. Fujisawa explained their product-line and engineering. Also highlighted were the current directions Core is taking and the new markets they seek. This presentation was valuable in two ways; one, that it traced the progress of a relatively new company in an up-coming market and two, that it concerns the present Information Age that is upon us now.

Other speakers include:

  • Pacific Resource Exchange Center. Mr. Minemura
  • Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. Mr. Lei Larry Ding
  • Ago Feitosa Company. Mr. Gus Faith
  • Johnson Company. Mr. Sakai
