Outline of Museum

Art-yama Gallery/Museum on a hilltop overlooking the ocean:
Kakuya Oishi who is a native of Awaji Island and Shoco had a plan to display their art in a natural setting among the trees on a hill overlooking Osaka Bay.
With the help of volunteers, they started clearing the forest of the hill revealing a wonderful ocean view.
Hand-crafted objects made of recycled bricks and discarded materials are placed in the grounds.
Around 250 paintings, sculptures and other works of art by Oishi are exhibited in the main gallery which is in the shape of a white ship with a healing effect.
Art-yama is a dynamic museum still in the process of evolving.
We sometimes hold concerts and talks with the aim of being one with nature and people.
Why not unwind/relax at Art-yama and escape from your busy daily life?
You will be able to recapture those special moments by listening to the sounds of nature breathing in the fresh mountain air.
