Pinto de Blue bears one large flower at each leaf axil. The tubes is white,
as are swept-back sepals which are tinged with pink on the undersides and
green at the tips.The corolla is dark violet, maturing to magenta as shown
below.
Growth is a bit wayward. If you wish to grow as a bush and to control the
plant in a limited space (and you don't like to be controlled by the plant),
training at earlier stages with supports might be required. Stopping date:
11 weeks.
Unfortunately Pinto de Blue is not heat-resistant enough and requires a
lot of care in hot-humid climates in Japan. It is, however, a spectacular
cultivar and definitely a feast for your eyes.
