Pink Mini is extremely heat-tolerant, making this fuchsia most adaptable
to Japan's hot summer.
Although its small, self-colored flowers might look less attractive, you
would change your mind once you know how heat tolerant it is.
In fact, I've found Pink Mini more heat-tolerant than some other garden
plants, i.e. Campanula, Symphyandra and so on. It easily copes with Osaka's
long summer, which is notorious for its high night temperatures between
25 to 30oC. Amazing!

On the right is Pink Mini planted in a mound of compost covered with moss
Hypnum plumaeforme.
For watering, you can soak the pot and compost in pails of water until
no bubble comes out.
I strongly recommend Pink Mini to those who wish to grow fuchsias as long-lived
plants, not as temporary ornaments, in low-lying areas in the western part
of Japan.
Note:
Year of hybridization is based on the description on the Nishinomiya Plant
Research Center's webpage. Growth habit is based on my personal impression.
