Finale of Steam Loco.

On March 14, 1972, the 9600-class steam locomotive disappeared from the Yonesaka Line. On that final day, a farewell train hauled by a double-headed 9634+79606 was operated, drawing crowds of railway fans and local residents.

On the evening of March 14, 1972, passenger 130 train crosses the Omono-gawa Bridge, hauled by the Yonesaka Line's final double-headed locomotive consist: 9634 and 59634.

A melancholy triple-header of C11 locomotives—C11204, C11240, and C11325— had been taken out of service at the Yonezawa shop. Behind them is the Sue7811, a three-axle bogie rescue car.

The C11 204—the last steam locomotive to run on the Yonesaka Line—has its number plate removed and been taken out of service. The Skyline cars parked alongside evoke the atmosphere of that era.
