Utsu pass

Utsu Pass, located between Tenoko and Uzen-Numazawa, was the most challenging section of the Yonesaka Line and a premier spot for photography. Here, a 9600-class locomotive climbs a steep 25‰ gradient, tackling the snow-covered pass at an elevation of 360 meters.
