Abstract


Currently only Kroll process was taken as the industrial titanium production method. Recent development of new refining processes are shortly reviewed. The molten salt technology and the replacement of raw material are mainly renewed in these proposals. Titanium oxide was selected for cost reduction and energy saving, and the simpler and continuous production methods were studied especially in Japan. Their principles are introduced and compared.
