　今なお残る「家父長制度」に対する違和感や、生活習慣や経済の変化は、従来あった「嫁入り」の様相を変えつつある。親が嫁ぐ娘に、持たせた豪華な着物を詰め込んだ桐箪笥は、将来どのような変遷を辿るのだろうか―。
展示作品は、明日香村に嫁いでこられた女性3名を取材し、嫁入り箪笥に納められていた物の一部を描いて絵巻に仕立て、室温度の管理された展示ケースに入れた。これらは絵画・工芸として鑑賞に加え、嫁入り文化を伝える民族資料として捉えることも、また女性たちの人生の一端にふれることもできるだろう。

In Japan, Women have been accustomed to bring a chest which was closely packed with Kimono at their marriage. However, in recent years that custom has become less frequently employed.
I painted tree old lady’s belongings which were in her chest of drawers made of paulownia wood in Nara. Before I draw, I learned their history and observed the objects. I displayed my handscrolls in two exhibition cases. They are recognized not only artificial works, but also anthropological materials in the future. In addition you’ll be able to feel a part of their lives.
