1989 Waldenmaier (NL) (data by AFS*)
Trailer, Single
WALZ Harp is among the instrumental series raised by a well known hybridizer
Waldenmaier.
With very long tubes and deep red corollas, WALZ Harp is an extremely impressive cultivar. Its flowers look larger than their actual size, due to the long tubes. So, while the plant is small (i.e. the first year of growth), you might feel the flowers are too large for the size of the plant.
Parentage is (
F.magdalenae x
F.fulgens var.
rubra grandiflora) x 'Bicentennial.'

WALZ Harp's stiff branches grow vigorously. The root system, however,
doesn't always develop in proportion to the growth of the overground part.
To make a healthy plant, I'd suggest that, especially during the early
stage of growth, you encourage the root growth more than tops.
