Svenny
1989 Strümper (DE) (data by NKvV*)
Bush, Single
With long, thin tubes and reddish violet corollas, Svenny is an impressive
cultivar.
The white tubes are streaked with pink, and sepals are tipped with green.
The glossy foliage is medium green.
The Fuchsia CD-ROM from MöhltiMedia publishing (Netherlands) says
Svenny's seed parent is F. magdalenae, from which Svenny might have inherited the distinctive shape of its flowers.
Svenny benefits from regular pinching. It is relatively heat tolerant. However, because of its late-blooming habit, the flowering period can be very short in a hot climate in Japan where the temperature rises sharply and exceeds a tolerable range in early summer.
