　作･編曲、そして指揮にRay Pittsを迎え、オーケストラのスキルを遺憾なく発揮した１９９１年作品。このオーケストラのよく訓練された精緻なジャズ・アンサンブルは定評がありますが、ソロイストのハイ・クオリティなプレイを引出す為の土台となって緊張感に溢れたアンサンブルを聴かせます。
　Ray Pittsのキーは、ソロイストの丹念に調べる即興。故に、アレンジはソロイストの視点からみたコンボ的ソロ部分が多い。コンボのリズミカルな激しさと、より大きなジャズ・アンサンブルのダイナミックで色彩豊かな世界という二つのジャズの魅力を楽しむことができます。
　イースン・ウイスガードをはじめとした強烈なリズム･セクションが、触発的プレイでソロイストとオーケストラを盛り上げるなど多面的な魅力に溢れた一枚です。(March 6, 2004)
