　モダン・ビック・バンドの秀作です。このオーケストラは、Jim BenhamとRich Biceによってロサンゼルスのミュージシャンを中心に１９７５年９月以来リハーサルを重ね、Rich Biceの精力的なリーダー・シップで着実に成果を上げてきました。このアルバムは、彼等の三作目に当たります。
　聴き所は、リード・トロンボーンのChris Braymenが、作･編曲している「Perdido」「Irrelevant, Incompetent and Immaterial」「Lament」「Black Tie」です。彼は、メイナード・ファーガソンに作･編曲を提供していることでも知られています。
　「Perdido」，ハービー・ハンコックの「処女航海」を思い起こすイントロから、斬新なテーマに続いてTod Dickow(ts)とJeff Cressman(tb)が長いソロを展開します。サックス・セクションのアンサンブルは、とても新鮮で素敵です。
　「Lamet」，J.J.ジョンソンの作品。クリス自身が、温かい歌心いっぱいのソロで魅了します。
　「Black Tie」，イエロージャケッツのノリで活気があります。Jeff Bealの甘い軽妙なフリューゲルホーンは、とびっきりイイです。
　「Irrelevant，Incompetent and Immaterial」，このアルバムのハイライトです。Chris Brayment(tb)とJeff Cressman(tb)が、柔らかくふくらみのあるトーンで、とても美しく歌います。トニー・コーマンの少し刺激なアルトも印象的です。

I'm hardly a famous player, but thank you for your kind words.
I admire the Japanese culture, and spent the summer of 1970 in Kyoto. It's one of the most beautiful places
I've ever seen.
If I can answer any questions, I'd be delighted.
The Full Faith and Credit Big Band does not exist any more, unfortunately. It broke up about 10 years ago.
The best big bands around here are Dave Eshelman's Jazz Garden Big Band
