Love Fortunes

A divine message from kami lays the foundation for Mikuji. Things Japanese have an integration into the WAKA of their own. Each Jinja has their own MIKUJI and it will tell the lives of people who visit and draw MIKUJI. The kami guides their lives to be happy and bright by each MIKUJI.

At NUNOSE JINJA, we have and you can draw MIKUJI which is collaborated with ICHIHARA HIROKO.

People visiting Jinja often check good or bad luck in their fortines. They donft actually check what is written in their fortunes. Good thing is not only written in good luck. Bad luck might have some good things written. We really have considered to understand how beautiful Japanese language is. We thought that we should create fortunes without any lucks also including good ones and love fortunes might not be related to these lucks. Then we had some meetings with ICHIHARA HIROKO, the modern artist, and collaborated with her gLANGUAGE ARTh and created gICHIHARA HIROKO KOIMIKUJI, LOVE FORTUNESh in 1999.

The concept for this mikuji are

1.      Get rid of any lucks

2.      Size must be a post card(HAGAKI). We think that this mikuji is a part of her work. Therefore, her works can be displayed with the frame.

3.      Anyone who drew mikuji have to think of its written contents.

By this gICHIHARA HIROKO KOIMIKUJIh, we think that so many young people are connected to JINJA. Recently, this mikuji is placed at a few jinja where Shinto priest who has the same thoughts. ICHIHARA HIROKO often open her exhibition that works are displayed.
