| Martin's sister and her friend visited Meijiike Junior High School. We welcomed them. We introduced “tea-ceremony”and “flower arrangement” to them. We enjoyed them together. They tried “yukata”. They looked very good in “yukata”, but Martin's yukata was short. I don't think we will have a chance to meet each other in the future. But I hope we will never forget each other and this day. Have a nice trip. I hope you have a safe journey back to Canada. |

Sen-no-Rikyu popularize this tea ceremony over 400 years ago. Now the 16th head of the scool is trying to spread this at home and abroad. They pass the mind of “Wa-Kei-Sei-Jaku”down from generation to generation under this long history and tradition. Wa･･･open your minds and be at peace with each other. Kei･･･respect each other. Sei･･･be pure in mind. Jaku･･･never become upset at any time. If people practice tea ceremony and invite each other for a bowl of tea, then they become caring and thoughtful to others. |
| 茶道は、今から４００年以上も前から、千利休 せんのりきゅう によって、広められました。現在は、１６代 （坐忘斎 ざぼうさい）千宗室 せんそうしつ 家元が、お茶の教育や外国への普及に努めています。このように長い歴史と伝統のもとに「和敬清寂 わけいせいじゃく」の心を多くの人々に伝えています。 和・・・心を開いて仲良くすること。 敬・・・お互いに尊敬しあうこと。 清・・・心の中も清らかであること。 寂・・・どんな時にも動じない心を持つこと。 茶道のお稽古に励み、一碗のお茶を勧め合うことで、他に対する思いやりの心を育てます。 茶の湯の動作、例えば、正座やお礼の仕方、ふくささばき、お茶筅通し、お茶やお菓子の頂方などは、すべて思いやりの心を表しています。 お花は、小さな器に、わずか数種類の花材で活けます。お花は風に揺れるように、添え花は、群生しているように・・・外観の美しさと精神的なものが調和して、深く引きつけられます。今こそ、季節を身近に感じて、心やすらぐひとときを持ちたいものです。 短いひとときでしたが、お花とお茶を紹介させていただきました。いつまたお会いできるか分かりませんが、今日の出逢いが、互いに良き思い出になればと思います。 |
