VT 18-BR175(KATO):Deutsch Reichsbahn introduced VT 18-BR 175 diesel railcar in 1930-1940. The model generates original sound recorded from the real train. Two starter sounds and two engine sound are generated one after another. Short and long horn is also equipped. SVT13(KATO). "Bauart Hamburg". DRG sent out SVT137 No.149-No.152 224-232 in 1935-1936. This is two connected cars type, and electrically controlled. The top speed was 160 km/h, surprising speed at that time. "Bauart Hamburg" was high-speed train representative of Germany before the World War II, which were actively used between Berlin and Hamburg, and Berlin and Leipzig. The prototype of this model is SVT137 227, which was remodeled to torque converter type after the World War II. |

German Railway ordered BR 601(VT 11,5) (ROCO), limited express diesel railcar of seven cars for use of important main line in the mid-1950s. This railcar was mainly used as TEE(Trans-Europe express)running through west Europe. 1,100 horsepower diesel engines were equipped in two front cars, and the formation was one open coach, two compartment coaches, one bar coach, and one dining coach. The top speed was 160 km/h. TEE emblem ornamented the two front cars. Elite business men used the high fare TEE, but it was shifted to aircrafts. Original sound, two horns, open and shut door sound, rotating engine sound well-matched to running speed was implemented. Insufficiency is only exhaust gas? DB VT98 (powered car ) +VS98 (followed car) (KATO). Rail bus runs slowly with calm sound. When I first visited Germany in 1971 as a fellowship research fellow by Humboldt Foundation, I got on this type car from Dusseldorf to remote coutry place Brilon Stadt. This is a happy memories.
