My Zara Spook Collection

　サーフェスプラグで、こと「幅広く探ること」に関してはザラスプークが群を抜いていいると思います。歴史の長いルアーの宿命か、これまでに数々の改変を受けており、大まかには、１ｓｔ（鼻アイ・金目・２ピースリグ）→同、（鼻アイ・金目）→同（鼻アイ・白目）→同（鼻アイ・白目・太ボディー）→２nd（強化アイ）→３rd（顎アイ・オリザラ、通称ソリザラ、ただし反ってないものもあり）→エビスコオリザラ→プラドコ現行品という変遷を辿ってきました。同じソリザラでも、イーグルクローの1/0が付いているものとマスタッドの1/0が付いているものとがあり、これら２種でも動きが微妙に違います。また、太ボディーのソリザラで、ラトルの入ったものもあり、ブタザラと呼ぶ人もいるようです。個人的には、低水温期にはウッドザラまたはエビスコオリザラのフックを多少重めのものに交換したものを、高水温期にはファーストかソリザラのイーグルクロータイプを、また流れのあるところでは２nd（特に斜め浮きに近いほう）を多用しています。

How to recognize Original Zara Spooks

Heddon's ORIGINAL ZARA SPOOK
(1) Four-piece molded in appearance, but actually 2-pieces by right and left sides.
(2)The swollen visible mold seam goes around the front screw of the surface rig like the old Zara Spooks with line tie in nose.
(3) The body is reinforced around the holes for the screws.
(4) The lead weight is not ball-shaped.
(5) The spaces of the marks between 'ORIGINAL' and 'HEDDON', and 'HEDDON' and 'ZARA (-) SPOOK' are wider.
(6) The size of letters is larger.
(7) Some are slightly bending, i.e. sway back or hump back.
(8) Without a hole in nose.

Pradco's ORIGINAL ZARA SPOOK
(1) Two-piece molded by head and tail.
(2) The invisible, if clear model, visible, mold seam goes around a little ahead of the surface rig. It's positioned nearer to the nose than Heddon's.
(3) The weight is ball-shaped, if you can see.
(4) The spaces of the marks between 'ORIGINAL' and 'HEDDON', and 'HEDDON' and 'ZARA (-) SPOOK' are narrower.
(5) The size of letters is smaller.
(6) Never bending.
(7) Usually with a hole in nose.

*There're some transitional models with both or mixed characteristics and they're supposed to have been produced during EBSCO era.
