Prairie dogs are social mammals and live in "town" which have been excavated for their burrows. When a natural enemy is approaching, they inform each other in a shaky voice and disappear into their burrows right away.
While I was taking their photos, they retreated into their burrows and hid themselves immediately when a badger appeared. .
