2005年にF1初開催を迎えるトルコGP。イスタンブール近郊に建設された5.378 kmのサーキットは、マレーシアのセパン,バーレーン,上海のコースを手がけたヘルマン・ティルケ氏がコースデザインを担当。サンマリノGP,ブラジルGPと同じく反時計回りのサーキットは14のコーナー(8つの左コーナー,6つの右コーナー)で構成され、ストレートでの最高速度は320 km/hにも達する。
