It’s incredibly exciting to run an English language school in Otsu, Shiga that will focus on learning to read and write and spell in English much same way that international schools, teach and encourage students to be active learners. Rather than memorizing a lot of phrases and words, the emphasis will be on meaningful inquiries, literacy activities, and investigations into the structure of the English language.

Mapletree English in Otsu, teaches children of any age from beginners to returnees. Yes, adults are welcome too.

Our new school, The English Literacy Center, in the center of Kyoto focuses both on students who have returned from living abroad and beginners who are looking for a Language Arts experience rather than a generic English conversation textbook.
