ジェイク（Jake）です。フィリピンから来ました。
アジア科学技術大学卒（専攻はコンピューター）。
これまでプログラマーとして働いたり、大学などでコンピューターについて教えたりしていました。
TEFL（英語を外国語として教えるためのコース）を修了しています。
明るく楽しくなごやかな雰囲気で英会話を教えてくれています。



Hi. I’m Jake, 32 years old and I come from a country with over 7,100 islands and speak more than 80 local dialects, The Philippines. I can say I’m a very outgoing person. I like the outdoors and nature as well as playing sports and be with friends. I also like Japanese food especially sushi.

I have been here in Japan for more than a year now. I’ve had many first time experiences too. My first airplane ride, the first country I’ve been to aside from the Philippines and many more.

Ever since I was young, I admired Japan and hoped that someday I could experience what’s it like to be in Japan. I like Japanese culture, its traditions and its ancient history. I was fascinated by samurais when they fought with their swords and when women wore their traditional kimonos in ancient times. I’ve read a lot about its long and rich history and now that I’m here in Japan, I’d like to learn more from the people firsthand. Likewise, I’d like to share my country’s culture and traditions as well.

It’s been fun for me living here in Japan, learning the Japanese language, experiencing the culture and interacting with people and helping them with their English skills so they will be confident to speak not only Japanese the language but other languages as well, especially English. English nowadays has become a common language spoken by most people in most countries.

It has been my joy to share what I know to other people and in turn, learning from them also.


こんにちは。ジェイクです。32歳です。フィリピンから来ました。私の国は7100を超える島々から成り、80以上もの現地語が存在します。自分はとても外向的な人間だと思います。アウトドア派で、自然が大好きです。またスポーツをしたり、友達と遊んだりするのも大好きです。日本の食べ物も好きです。特にお寿司は大好物です。

日本に来て一年が過ぎましたが、その間に初めて経験したことがたくさんあります。初めて飛行機に乗りました。フィリピンを出国して初めて来た外国がこの日本です。まだ他にもたくさんあります。

長い間、日本に対してとても強い興味をもっていました。日本はどんな所なのかいつか行ってみたいなぁと思っていました。伝統的な着物を着ていた女性たちや、刀で真剣勝負をしていたサムライたちに魅了されてきました。この長い豊かな歴史についてたくさんの本を読んできましたが、今は日本に住んでいるので、直接日本の人々からもっと多く学びたいと思っています。また同じように、自分の国の文化や伝統についてもみなさんと分かち合いたいと思います。


日本の暮らしは楽しいです。日本語を覚え、文化に触れ、人々と交わったり。また、日本語だけでなく他の言語、特に英語を話すのに自信が持てるように英語能力の向上に役に立つように楽しくお手伝いしています。いまや英語は本当に多くの国、多くの人々によって話されている共通言語になりました。

私の知っていることをみなさんと分かち合い、また私もみなさんから学べることは本当に楽しいです。
